A closer look at the original "Mother of Exiles" Mural

Here you can get a closer look at the original "Mother of Exiles " artwork with detail shots of its collage elements. I have provided explanation for some of the images, but I don't want to explain the artwork too much. I want those who view my art to form their own connections with the various images; and come to their own conclusions about it's meaning.  

A few things of note: 

• There are elements and references to or taken from ancient, classical, and contemporary art. 

• Is Liberty angry, sad, dying? 

•Circe offers a potion, but it's also asking the viewer: "will you drink the kool-aid? How are you being transformed?

Through this image, I illude to the imagery and interpretations of the Queen of Cups, Queen of Swords, and Queen of Wands In Tarot cards. Both upright and reversed qualities are meant to be reflected on  as a choice this time offers.

Car plows into a crowd of protesters. The license plate reads  "1111" . Known as a number that symbolizes a spiritual "wake up call" in numerology.
