My contribution to the "Refuge" Book Release

I'm so excited to be part of the newly released book "REFUGE: Voices of Courage & Resilience for a Fractured World". It's a full-color collection of over 100 essays, poetry and visual art anthologized by writer, photographer, and magazine art director Cathy Krizik. 

 My artwork "Mother of Exiles" has been mostly overlooked by galleries, in part due to the fact that I created it during the 2019 pandemic when everything was closed. Since its resurrection as a protest sign, it's been seen at countless protests and various media outlets have featured it as part of their news coverage of these events, but this is the first time it's been formally connected to the larger conversation about these current times.
